The Pinwheel Galaxy, also known as M101 or NGC 5457, is a spiral galaxy located in the constellation Ursa Major, approximately 21 million light-years from Earth. It is known for its bright blue arms, which indicate regions of intense star formation. The galaxy is face-on and rotates counterclockwise.
